Young Automatic Dance

Young Automatic Dance

The dance company "Young Dance Automatique" has existed since 2011 and shows contemporary dance theater in the form of pieces developed by children and teenagers aged 10-19 together with choreographer and dancer Harald Schulte. The name refers to the dance company "Compagnie Danse Automatique". The YDA forms, so to speak, the youth department of the professional adult ensemble. The special attraction is the mixture of age groups and in the approach that children and young people work under professional guidance with their own pieces.

During the lessons, their children learn techniques from the different areas of dance, such as classical, modern and contemporary dance, in order to understand and use the body as an instrument of dance. In addition to rehearsed choreographies, they also develop movements in guided improvisations, which are then assembled into sequences and their own choreographies. The children not only gain insight into the work of the dance theater, but also become creative themselves. The result will then be presented in a performance. In addition, smaller and smaller appearances take place during festivals and other events.
